More Than Ingredients. Proven Outcomes.

At Berkeley Life, clinical validation goes beyond individual ingredients.
Our formulations are evaluated through human clinical research measuring outcomes like blood pressure, endothelial function, circulation, NO bioavailability, and sexual wellness.

Our patented 15-second saliva strips were used in our clinical research alongside laboratory testing, where strip readings tracked lab-measured nitrite levels. The same marker, readable at home.

Our practitioner partners recommend Berkeley life for blood pressure support, sexual health and helping to support blodd flow. Our consumers consistantly report improvement in energy levels

PLACEBO

Statistically significant · Source: Clinical Nutrition ESPEN, 2020

Measured against placebo

Blood pressure reduction was the endpoint this trial set out to test. The bars show the result against a placebo group over 12 weeks. That placebo comparison is what makes the difference meaningful. The reduction is attributable to the formula itself.

378%

Where the curve peaks, and where it holds

The study tracked how fast nitrate reaches the blood and how long it stays there. 378% is the rise above each participant's own starting level, measured at the two hour peak. The tail matters more. Levels were still elevated at hour 24, which is what a once daily dose provides to optimize bioavailability.

Read this as an early signal

A 60-day pilot in a small group of women, average age 60. The results are self-reported, there was no control group, and the work has not been peer reviewed. The numbers point at something worth testing properly, not at a proven effect.

A separate 30-day randomised trial of the same formula is described in the linked article. That one had a placebo group.

Pathway Comparison

Choosing a Nitric Oxide Protocol: How the Options Compare

Providers ask how Berkeley Life compares to other Nitric Oxide approaches. The table below answers the questions we hear most — and gives honest credit to other categories where it's clinically warranted. What differentiates Berkeley Life is the combination of a finished-formula RCT, a patented saliva test system, and a complete practice protocol.

Clinical Criterion Berkeley LifeDietary nitrate capsule Sodium Nitrite Lozenges Beetroot Gummies & Chews L-Arginine / L-Citrulline Beetroot Powder / Juice
Primary NO pathway
Dietary nitrate — entero-salivary conversion
Direct sodium nitrite → NO
Dietary nitrate, often paired with polyphenol vasodilators (grape seed extract)
L-arginine and/or L-citrulline
Dietary nitrate — entero-salivary conversion
Form delivered
Dietary nitrate — the form found in leafy greens and beets
Sodium nitrite — an already-reduced nitrite intermediate
Concentrated beetroot plus grape seed extract in a chewable matrix
Amino acid substrate for the body's NOS enzyme
Dietary nitrate within a whole-food matrix
Onset & duration of NO support
Sustained -- 2 hour peak onset & sustained by gradual conversion via oral bacteria; NO support over 24 hours
Rapid onset, short-acting bolus
Sustained via the nitrate pathway; typical serving delivers a lower nitrate dose than clinical protocols
Variable; dose- and enzyme-dependent
Sustained; dose-variable
Age-independent efficacy
✓Pathway functions at every age
✓Bypasses NOS
✓Pathway functions at every age
NOS activity declines with age
✓Pathway functions at every age
Finished-formula RCT
✓Randomized, double-blind, 12-week trial — Lundquist Institute at Harbor-UCLA (2020)
Older & smaller studies
Brand-sponsored studies on combined formulas; smaller in scale
Strong ingredient evidence; few branded-formula RCTs
Ingredient-level research only
Saliva test-and-measure system
✓Patented NO saliva test strips
✓Strips available from some brands
